6 ways to wear a silk scarf
as a hair accessory
A silk scarf is the most versatile fashion accessory. You can fold it and tie it in endless stylish ways. This is what makes it so precocious and timeless. Its beauty is that it can be an expression of your personal unique style and artistic spirit.
In my opinion, it is the perfect accessory!
I wanted to share a few beautiful ways to use a silk scarf as a hair accessory.
1. The Hairband
The classic and beautiful way of wearing a silk scarf in your hair is the hairband style. You fold your silk scarf diagonally in the middle and then continue to fold it until you have a long and thin band. Then you wrap it around your head and make a knot, which could be left up front or tacked in the back. Simple and chic!
2. The turban
A touch of the oriental is always a good idea! This stunning style is very simple to create but it always leaves a mark of sophistication. Like the hairband, we fold the silk scarf until we get a long band and then we wrap it, starting from the neck upwards, then we cross the two ends and twist. In the end, we make a knot in the back and done!
3. The Audrey Hepburn
This way of wearing a silk scarf was usually used as protection from the cold weather. Later on, when puffy hairstyles became fashionable, it was used to keep the expensive hairstyle intact.
Maybe this style is a little old fashion, but it is definitely stunning! Hopefully, it will make a fashionable comeback soon.
4. The Boho style
This hairstyle is for girls with long hair! If you don't have extremely full hair, you can use a hair donut to create this Bouffant effect and then just wrap the folded silk scarf around it. simple and effective!
5. The hair ribbon
This silk scarf style is one of my all-time favorites. It is feminine and gentle and it works with so many different types of outfits.
If you want the youthful feminine effect, I would combine it with a summery dress. It can also look very business-like if combined with a sexy suit. Just try it out, you won't regret it!
6. The bandana
This is another look that we can include in the Boho style category. The classic size of a Bandana is 55x55 cm, but with a large 90x90 silk scarf you get that "splash of color" WOW effect!
Combine it with the coolest sunglasses you have, and you're good to go.
I hope I inspired you with some gorgeous summer looks!
